The scope of the work involved the construction of reinforced concrete approach slabs and bridge deck overlay; general timber superstructure maintenance and new guard railing for Bridge 4412A McNess Drive over the Canning River. The work generally comprised of the following:

  • Excavation to correct levels for slabs and overlay;
  • Trimming and preparing existing timber for concrete overlay;
  • Reinforced concrete overlay and approach slabs with associated contraction joints and kerbing;
  • Reinstatement of asphalt and linemarking;
  • Removal and replacement of existing guardrails; and
  • Maintenance of timber structure including pile banding, corbel packing, bolting of split corbels and beams, halfcap bearing supports, etc.
