Client:City of Swan
Construction Period: Jan – Mar 2011
Total Value: $550,000 + GST
The Works comprised of the design and construction of a bridge and 2 boardwalks in Swan River Regional Park. This project used: steel piles, precast beams as permanent formwork with an insitu component cast over – all carried out either over the Swan River or nearby in sensitive environmental conditions. The work specifically involved the design, supply and construction of:
- A 15m span bridge complete with screw pile foundations;
- A 7m span boardwalk complete with screw pile supports; and
- An 8m span boardwalk complete with reinforced concrete foundations.
One of the major challenges for the project was the tight timeframe imposed on the works. Only eleven and a half weeks were allocated to complete full development of the design and construction. This project was completed on time, on budget and was submitted for the 2011 WA Engineering Excellence Awards under the category for Small Company Projects.
