The Mandurah Estuary Pool project involved the construction of new reinforced concrete retaining walls, reclamation, terraces, stairs, access ramp and beaches on the Mandurah Eastern Foreshore.

The project included:

  • Demolition works – removal of existing rock groyne and top block of limestone wall;
  • Ground improvement works via surcharging;
  • Excavation and earthworks;
  • Dewatering, including appropriate protection and management;
  • Supply and installation of Reinforced Concrete Retaining Wall including subsoil drainage and compaction of backfill behind the Reinforced Concrete Retaining Wall;
  • Supply and installation of Geotextile Sand Containers (GSC) to provide Scour
    Protection to the site;
  • Supply and installation of Terraces, Stairs and Access Ramps to provide access from the promenade level to the water.

The project was effectively managed without environmental incident. All of the works were completed on time and on budget.
