The Works involved the construction of a replacement Jetty on steel piles, with steel and Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) supporting frame and recycled plastic decking. The Jetty is approximately 34 m long and is connected back to the existing concrete footpath.

The project included:

  • Preparation and implementation of appropriate management plans;
  • Removal of the Existing jetty, including stockpiling existing timber members (excluding piles) to be salvaged;
  • Earthworks for new jetty abutment;
  • In-situ concreting for a new concrete abutment;
  • Construction of scour protection in front of new jetty abutment;
  • Supply and installation of steel piling, including corrosion protection;
  • Supply, fabrication and installation of steelwork for the supporting structure;
  • Supply and installation of decking, handrail, kerbs, FRP joists and connections;
  • Supply and installation of timber chafers; and Supply and installation of LED lights, signage and furniture.

The project was effectively managed without environmental incident and minimal impact to the surrounding stakeholders.
