    • Installation of a silt curtain around the entire footprint of the water construction activities.
    • Construction of a temporary access bund to allow construction of the island.
    • Construction of the Waterbird Refuge Island which included:
      • Placing the inner core using 300-600mm limestone spalls.
      • Placing 2 layers of 600mm – 900mm limestone spalls around the outside of the core material.
      • Creating a beach on the landside of the island which also extended to the topside of the island.
      • Placing roosting logs.
      • Landscaping and planting.
      • Relocation of 1 x light pole to the other side of the adjacent footpath which required realigning all electrical cables, between 2 light poles, to the other side of the footpath.
      • Implementation of an ASS Management Plan.
      • Engaging Aboriginal Heritage Monitors to inspect and monitor ground disturbance works.
      • Construction of a 60m long Composite Natural Edge which consists of an armour rock revetment combined with a sloped bank which is protected from erosion with coir matting, planting and scattered limestone rocks.
      • Construction of 2 x headlands which involved:
        • Reclamation of land using clean fill material.
        • Installing geofabric on the slopes of the fill material.
        • Placing filter rock (50-500mm limestone spalls) over the geofabric.
        • Placing limestone biscuit armour around the outside of the headlands.
